"I have seen the joy this activity brings to people, and since I believe this activity brings us closer to Nature in a delightful way, I believe we are more likely to do what is necessary to protect Nature."

Michelle Blandy near York, PA, has asked me about the locations of other places where she could possibly feed birds out of her hands, and her question has stimulated me to add this section/webpage to my webpage about hand feeding birds at Blue Spruce Park - to list other places where we could do this. So, if YOU know of a public place where chickadees (and/or other birds) have previously been "trained" to come to feed out of your hand, then please contact me and I will include that information here. Special Note: Dr. Vladimer Pravosudov is a professor of biology at the University of Nevada, Reno and studies chickadee biology in great detail. He responds to critics of feeding chickadees by hand in a newspaper article entitled
"UNR chickadee expert says it's fine to feed the birds in Tahoe."
He says "I think feeding chickadees provides a great experience to interact with nature."
